The Talking Mime

from $50.00

Wandering around Warsaw, Poland, I chanced upon a “Day of the Deaf” celebration. Warsaw is famous for its schools for pantomime and mimes abound. A group of mimes were performing for the crowd of deaf people, including many children in the Saxon Gardens. A wonderful mime came over to play for and with my camera and, somewhat self-consciously decided to explain a little of what was going on. He was a very skilled mime and a delightful person, who then introduced me to the rest of the troupe that was performing there that day. The “Day of the Deaf” is an annual celebration and honoring of people with hearing disabilities in Warsaw. What a privilege to be part of that day.
